The Mitchell sisters, of Cincinnati, are a dynamic duo on and off the court. Kelsey, a senior majoring in sports industry, and Chelsea, a junior majoring in human development and family science, are standout players on the Buckeye women’s basketball team.
Point guard Kelsey was named the Big Ten Player of the Year and made 127 three-point shots last season, scoring the single-season record with the NCAA. Kelsey averages 25.5 points per game, has earned a spot on the All-Big Ten team and was named one of five finalists for the Nancy Lieberman Award, which honors the country’s top point guard.
After recovering from a torn ACL, Chelsea, a forward redshirt, made her collegiate debut this season against the University of Connecticut.
Their father and lucky charm, Mark Mitchell, serves as the team’s assistant coach.
