As an ophthalmologist, Ohio State President Michael V. Drake knows how to remove barriers to sight. Now he’s focused on putting students on the path to higher education.

The 2020 Vision, Drake’s plan for the university, identifies access and affordability as top priorities. For Michaelyn Brace, a sophomore studying early childhood education, the President’s Affordability Grant made attending Ohio State a clear choice.

“When universities realize that people can’t pay for college — as much as they want the opportunity — it means the world (to students),” Brace said.
