Thanks to Krysten Kauder, friendship bracelets just got a lot more chic and charitable.
Ryan Porter, Kauder’s custom-made women’s alphabet fashion jewelry company, really took off last year. Her pieces graced the pages of Teen Vogue, Elle, Marie Claire and People. As her New York City-based company gained popularity, it become even more important for Kauder to make her bling do good. It all started with sponsoring a child.
“I have always had a love and need for helping others,” said Kauder, ’09, of New York. “This is why I sponsored a child through Save the Children. Cecelia is the sweetest 8-year-old girl.”
Now, Kauder is creating a collection to raise funds for Bring Change 2 Mind, a nonprofit organization working to end the stigma surrounding mental illness. “I am very grateful that I now have the ability to give back to the causes that mean so much to me.”
